Hnědý Vrch Lookout Tower

The highest lookout tower in the Giant Mountains. You can get here on foot following the yellow trail or comfortably by cable car (takes strollers too). Open May–October.

Map of the Republic

Do you know what the Map of the Republic is?

Snow stays the longest on the slope of Studniční Hora. The snowfield shape resembles former Czechoslovakia. It is best seen from the way to Výrovka (May–July).

Ridge hike

Czech-Polish Friendship Trail

A legendary ridge route that follows the state border. It leads from Pomezní Boudy via Sněžka to the western Giant Mountains. You will see glacial lakes Mały and Wielki Staw on the Polish side or the Noon Stones (Polední kameny) rock formations.

Source of the Elbe

Source of the Elbe

A symbolic place of birth of one of the largest European rivers (1387 m a.s.l.). You will find a stone wall with coats of arms of cities through which the Elbe flows. The journey from Pec is long but worth it (21 km).

Mountain valleys

Circuit through Green and Blue Valley

A less frequented but all the more beautiful route. You will walk through deep valleys, see original mountain architecture (Milíře), and enjoy peace. The route is more challenging, unsuitable for strollers.

Kozí Hřbety (Goat Ridges) (10.8 km)

A steep ridge with breathtaking views, nicknamed "Krkonoš". A unique ridge hike for fitter tourists.

Jelení Louky and Liščí Waterfall

A romantic walk along the Zelený Potok stream. On the way, you will pass Liščí Waterfall and reach the picturesque Jelení Louky (Deer Meadows).

Černá Hora Peat Bog

A unique site 6,000 years old. Walk along wooden walkways and climb the observation tower in the middle of the peat meadow. It is most beautiful in July when everything blooms.

You will learn how a peat bog is formed, who moves it, and who kills it. You can make the journey easier by taking the cable car from Jánské Lázně to Černá Hora. Not suitable for strollers etc.
